About

Hi, I'm Marcus.

Portrait of Marcus Tardif

I've spent more than 26 years turning technology into results for the healthcare and benefits industry, and the last several years putting AI to work in products that real people rely on.

I started out writing mainframe code for benefits administration systems. From there I led implementation teams, ran large technology organizations and eventually moved into AI and product leadership, building document automation, conversational AI and personalization products for national healthcare and benefits companies.

Along the way I learned what separates AI that works from AI that just demos well: a clear business problem, a measurable payoff, a solution people will actually use and the discipline to deliver it. Those lessons apply to a ten-person contracting business just as much as to a large enterprise.

That's why I consult. Small and mid-sized businesses have the most to gain from practical AI and the least access to people who have done it for real. I'd like to change that, one business at a time.

Outside of work I'm a husband and father in Tarpon Springs, Florida, a professional bagpiper, an avid golfer and a music producer and recording engineer. I still build things for fun, including The Homeschool Portfolio.
